How we rank · Method v1.1

Three tests. No exceptions.

  1. I
    Public reputation, weighted

Star ratings count more when more people left them, so a few perfect reviews cannot beat years of good ones.

  2. II
    Recognized by others

Independent guides, critics and awards from 2024 to 2026. Each counts once, and a MICHELIN star weighs more than a readers' poll.

Years serving Orlando, from public records and the business itself.

Independent. Nobody can pay to be ranked or to move up. Contractors also need an active Florida license, checked on the state’s DBPR lookup, and every list is scored again on the 1st of each month. Full method →

Questions

Plainly answered.

How are the seven chosen?

Businesses such as restaurants, roofers and car services get a score out of 100 from public reputation weighted by review volume, recognition from independent guides and years in business, and the seven highest make the list. Contractors also need an active Florida license. Things to do, beaches and neighborhoods have no single owner, so they are ordered by public evidence without a number. The current edition is October 2026.

Can a business pay to be ranked?

No. Nobody can pay to be listed or to move up, and there are no sponsored spots inside the seven. If we ever show an advertisement, it will be labeled and kept outside the list.

How often are the lists updated?

Every list is updated on the first day of each month: ratings and review counts are refreshed, closures are checked and the seven are scored again. Each pick shows whether it moved since the last edition, and the date at the top of each page tells you which edition you are reading.

Are the photos of the businesses on the list?

Some are, and every photo says which kind it is. A Google Maps or Wikimedia Commons credit means a real photo of that place; the label Illustrative image means an AI-generated picture that does not show the business. Use the Website and Directions buttons on each listing to see the real place.
