Privacy Policy: Analytics and Cookies

Orlando Best 7 has no accounts, no forms and no advertising. We count visits with Google Analytics to learn which lists people use, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.

What we measure

We use Google Analytics 4. It records the pages you open, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location (city and country) that Google derives from your connection. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

We also record which buttons you use on a list: Call, Website, Directions, the details of a pick, the list of candidates, the questions you open, the guide and the categories menu. Each of those events carries the name of the business, its place on the list and the category, and a Website click also carries the domain of the site it opens, so we can tell a business how many people we sent its way. It never carries anything about you.

When you use the search box on the home page, we record only which list it opened, or that it found none. We never record what you typed.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and one that starts with _ga_, so a returning browser is not counted as a new visitor. They expire after two years at most. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are measured without these cookies.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off for this site.
  • Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted by Google.

How to opt out

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google explains how it uses data from sites like this one at policies.google.com.

Other services this site loads

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Fonts come from Google Fonts, some photos load from Google Maps servers, and the home page uses scripts from cdnjs and jsDelivr. Your browser connects to those services to download the files, so they receive your IP address, as with any website.

Email

If you write to editor@orlandobest7.com, we use your address and message only to reply and to check the correction you sent. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes and contact

If the way we measure visits changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Questions about privacy go to editor@orlandobest7.com.
